Draw an outline of a cheetah body on your scrap cardboard. Super Make It has a template for this cheetah as well as additional animals if you feel more comfortable using that, but I just free handed it. Also draw 2 U-shaped pieces for the legs. (I made 2 cheetahs, that’s why you see 4 leg pieces in my photos).
Use craft paint to color the legs and top of the cheetah body yellow. I added a tad bit of orange to my yellow paint to get a more mustard yellow color. I let one side of the cardboard dry, and then painted the other side as well.
Next, add in the details. Paint a white stripe on the bottom belly of the cheetah body, and add black spots, an ear, mouth, and nose detail. Don’t forget to add spots to the cheetah legs and on one yellow pipe cleaner which will be the tail. This is a great time for your kid to help you!
After everything has dried, use scissors to cut an incision in the middle of legs in order to slip it onto the cheetah body.
Lastly, puncture the pipe cleaner into the back of the cheetah body. The wire should pierce inside the corrugated cardboard nicely. I added hot glue to further secure it.
